I want everyone to feel known and welcomed at the Center. I look forward to meeting you, if I haven’t already, and I want to offer some suggestions for meeting new people.

Classes are a wonderful way to meet new people, and our Education Ministry has tuition scholarship programs available. We have regular, certificated classes lasting from eight to ten weeks and shorter spiritual enrichment courses that last from four to five weeks. If you take five spiritual enrichment courses, the sixth one is free.

During our annual Nurturing Our Community event, you can volunteer to host a meal in your home and have folks bid for a seat at your table. Whether you are a guest or a host, it’s a great way to eat delicious food, meet new friends, and have a good time.

There are number of other ways to meet new people that are free.

Stepping Stones Books and Gifts presents monthly events, where well-known authors and artists present extracts from their works. You can follow the bookstore events by visiting their website to see what is currently being offered.

Other great social events are our Annual Picnic, Easter Services, and our annual Animal Blessing. These events are open to the whole family and are an easy way of connecting with others.

Another great way to connect with people is to stop by the Volunteer Table in the Social Hall where various opportunities to help out are listed. One of our most popular service opportunities is being an usher/greeter or serving in the hospitality area because of the friendly connections associated with that service. Being a receptionist at the front desk is also a wonderful way to be of service.

There are many additional ways to connect at the Center and the best way is to keep showing up and reading the bulletin until something there clicks with you.

Finally, we have a Facebook page, that many of us enjoy as a way of sharing and connecting.
